Our Growth Marketing Principles

One challenge I see repeatedly across growth teams is the ongoing struggle to prioritize and balance growth strategies across multiple channels.

🌱 “I know there’s overlap between our channels, but we’re not sure how to leverage it effectively.”
🌱 ”We only have so much budget and time, but it’s hard to know where to focus for the biggest impact.”
🌱 "We’re doing SEO, PR, and paid ads, but it feels like they’re all happening in silos."

When thinking about growth channels and their outcomes, there are three high-level buckets to consider, each playing a crucial role in your overall strategy.

1️⃣ Long-Term Vision and Target Outcome:

This first bucket is all about laying a solid foundation for sustained growth. This involves organic efforts like content optimization, technical and on-page SEO, and social media engagement.

These activities are designed to build lasting value and ensure that your brand remains visible and relevant over time.

2️⃣ Short-Term, Quick Win Channels:

The second bucket focuses on channels that deliver immediate results, such as paid search, paid social, and digital ads like those on YouTube.

These channels are where we can leverage funding to quickly acquire new customers and scale our efforts.

The key here is to drive rapid growth while maximizing the return on investment.

3️⃣ Overlapping Activities:

The third bucket is where the first two intersect. Here, we see channels like PR communications and SEO backlinking.

For example, investing in PR can create a compelling narrative around your product, building brand awareness and addressing top-of-funnel (TOFU) activities.

Meanwhile, SEO backlinking, while benefiting from funding, can show results
relatively quickly, enhancing both organic reach and authority.

These three buckets represent different yet interconnected approaches to growth. Each has its unique strengths, but when used together, they work toward the common goal of driving sustained and scalable growth for your business.

Real talk: Growth is overwhelming. Especially when i'm juggling short term goals, long term visions, everything in between while trying to figure out where to focus my energy, time, and budget for the best impact.

That’s why we break growth strategies into three interconnected buckets to simplify the complexity.

Growth isn’t about choosing one strategy over another. Sometimes, the heart of it lies in finding the right balance and actually letting each piece work together, step by step until the bigger picture starts to take shape.
